New Heart Mennonite Fellowship
History
After the Leland Mast family from Faith Mennonite Fellowship had lived in Southaven for a few years working for a ministry called Choice Books, we as a church decided to pursue the idea of planting a church there. We started by scheduling church services at the Mast families’ home and regularly sending other families from our church there to help with the services. We also appealed to the BMA for other families to move there to help. In May of 2010 the Stan Miller family moved there to help with leadership and the establishment of the new body of believers. We are continuing to send families to help with services with the intention of one day establishing them as an autonomous congregation under the umbrella of BMA.
Mission
The ultimate goal of this church plant is to glorify Christ and build His church by reaching the lost of the greater Memphis area with the everlasting truth of the glorious Gospel. We also desire to strengthen the church by providing an alternative to people who long to associate with a body of believers which has endeavored to hold true to the principles of God’s Word in the areas of modesty, simplicity, and a life of holiness. We intend to do this by making inroads through childrens ministry – namely vacation Bible school – as well as by directly contacting and reaching out to the adults in the region. This will most likely be done through home visits, Bible studies, and by inviting and welcoming them to our church services.
